When I have some free time there is nothing I like doing better than exploring Yorkshire and all its delightful towns, villages and cities. A trip out wouldn’t be complete without a visit to a café or tearoom so here are a sample of some of my favourite haunts!
My most local café is BEAN EMPORIUM at the top of the high street in Boroughbridge YO51 9BA, it's open Tuesday-Saturday and I love their bacon ,chicken and avocado salad. Their tea comes complete with an egg timer so you drink when it has “ brewed” correctly!!
In Ripon I like to visit CHIMES down towards the cathedral HG4 1PA, open Tuesday – Saturday. It has great coffee and homemade scones and Ripon is a lovely town to enjoy a wonder around.
Also in Ripon is OLIVERS PANTRY HG4 1DP, Decorated with ordinance survey wallpaper it has imaginative dished and David particularly enjoys the enormous meringues!!
If I have a spare moment in Thirsk I like to pop to THE PANTRY, YO7 1AA , It does lunches and afternoon teas and seasonal treats and is the perfect place to go if you are visiting the World of James Herriot!
If you have any suggestions for tea rooms David and I should try I'd love to know!
