Cundall Lodge Farm

Come and stay with us in our Grade II listed Georgian farmhouse - a peaceful retreat which enjoys glorious panoramic views of the countryside across the Vale of York to the Hambleton Hills. Cundall Lodge is a working family farm and guests are welcome to explore, perhaps see the lambs in spring, take a leisurely stroll along the banks of the River Swale or just sit & relax in the garden.

Cundall Lodge is a traditional family farm where we grow cereals, grass and fodder beet. Our farm has a Grade II Listed Georgian House and buildings built over 200 years ago; and is bordered on one side by the meandering River Swale. Stone axe heads have been ploughed up in our fields having laid undisturbed for thousands of years.

The Church of St Mary and All Saints (just across the field) was built around 1850 and has the remains of a Saxon Cross. The White Horse of Kilburn stands out from it’s position on The Hambleton Hills across The Vale of York and is visible from the house. Our flock of Suffolk cross ewes usually lamb in January and are well looked after by our dog ‘Jess’, who loves to play football if you have time! We have about 20 hens that lay free range eggs for your breakfast!

If required, this is our Access Statement. Please note that our house is Totally Non-Smoking. We welcome children over 14 years of age. We have our own dog, but do not allow any pet animals in the house. Please do check to see if we have any Special Offers valid for your stay.

The Cundall Lodge Breakfast

The best local produce ...

A breakfast of your choice is served in the dining room using the best local produce, bread and honey and home made preserves. Choose from a range of starters followed by a traditional Cundall Lodge Grill or one of our speciality dishes; special diets can be catered for.

For breakfast we provide a help yourself buffet to begin with and then we serve a hot breakfast of your choice.

The Buffet consists of a selection of cereals, a dried fruit compote soaked in apple juice, grapefruit in fruit juice and yogurts and each day there is a breakfast special usually using something seasonal or homemade. There will be a choice of orange juice and another juice.

The Cundall Lodge Grill is served next with brown and white toast. Homemade marmalade, jam and local honey are on your table.

Teas and Coffee’s: Yorkshire Tea and Lazy Sunday or Fair Trade Colombian coffees are served at breakfast. If you would prefer an alternative, all the hot and cold drinks available in the rooms are available at breakfast too.
